The New Space

Well, we did it. I had no idea that when we discussed the idea of moving home to Vancouver Island in mid May, that we would actually be here as quickly as August 12th. It has been an exciting few months, and we had some great neighbors and friends help us with a crazy hectic move on both ends. Our new place is located on a hill, and we couldn’t get our 26ft u-haul all the way up the driveway so we had to park with the truck teetering on a flat section of our driveway with the back of the truck facing downhill. Everybody was grunting and sweating, and I realized halfway through that we probably should have splurged the 7k on movers and saved everyone’s aging knees and backs.

So here we are, starting again, in a familiar place that feels just like home because it is home. The hardest part of moving has been cutting physical ties with clients/friends in the Fraser Valley. I’ve only had a chance to come back once to work and could only see a small fraction of the people I wanted to see. I hope to be back within the month, but have to work around the new Covid restrictions.

My new home clinic is officially open. Our good friend came up and renovated the entrance to our basement suite, my dad gave us some cedar, and we stained and painted everything inside and out, so its lookin’ pretty nice! I’m really proud of it and I can’t wait to share it with you. We are nestled at the back of a Cul De Sac in Cowichan Bay, backing onto forest trails, and overlooking the ocean and outward to Saltspring Island.

Where the forest meets the sea, I really want this to be a space where you can come and relax, and I hope my treatments leave you feeling healthy, happy, and rejuvenated.

Here are a few pics of the move and the home based clinic!

THANK YOU FRASER VALLEY FRIENDS!

YOU GUYS ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH!!

Dear Optimum Patients and Friends,

It is never easy to make a big change, and you have no idea how hard it is to say goodbye to one of the most amazing clinics I have ever worked in. When I moved to the Valley 9 years ago, I didn’t know very many people and so I didn’t expect to find such an incredible and supportive community. I didn’t know how acupuncture would be received, and was overwhelmed by the positive response I experienced from day one. I found that in this small city surrounded by gorgeous rivers and beautiful mountains, was an incredible community of down to earth and friendly people who welcomed me with open arms. It truly has become my second home, and over the course of almost a decade, it has been an honor getting to know all of you.  It is quite a gift to enjoy coming to work, and to feel as though you are hanging out with friends all day.

My family and I have decided to move home to Vancouver Island, and I will be starting a home-based business in the Cowichan Bay region, as well as hopefully working out of a clinic. If you find yourself in the area, please come and visit. I will also be returning to Chilliwack once a month (when the weather is cooperating) to offer treatments to the die-hard acupuncture fans. You can join my call/e-mail list and I will let you know when I am coming to town. You have not gotten rid of me yet, lol!

My last day at the clinic will be Thursday August,6th, and I will be doing my best to add any days I can this month.

Please feel free to email me anytime at kjacksonacupuncture@gmail.com

I am currently working on a blog that will cover all things acupuncture and wellness, you can follow it here at www.wildorcatherapy.com. Also, if you would like to write me a testimonial that I can post on my website, that would be great! You can email it to me at the above email address.

Thank you for everything Chilliwack, I will miss you dearly!

Cheers,

Kelsey
